Almond Bars from Catherine Robins

 Catherine brought these to our guild meeting, and they are delicious!

Preheat oven to 375


1 cup butter 

1 cup water

2 cups flour

2 cups sugar

2 Beaten eggs.

1/2 cup sour cream

1 TBSP Almond extract

1 tsp. Salt

1 tsp. baking soda


Bring butter and water to boil. Remove from heat. 

Stir in flour, sugar, almond extract, Sour cream, beaten eggs,salt + baking soda. 


Pour into a greased 10x 15 inch jelly roll pan, Bake @ 375° for 20-22 minutes


Frosting-

1/2 cup butter

1/4 Cup milk

4 1/2 cups. powered sugar 

1 TBSP almond extract


Refrigerate for a few hours or overnight to help to cut cleanly. Cut into diamond Shapes and gamish with silver almonds.
